The Mad Max franchise recently experienced a bit of
a rebirth thanks to Mad Max: Fury Road but fans of the original movie can pick
up this Mad Max Interceptor replica on eBay.
Based on a 1972 AMC Javelin, the car has been
completely transformed as it features a custom front end which has been
designed to mimic the Ford Falcon XB GT that was used in the movie. The car has
also been equipped a non-functional supercharger and a satin black paint job
which has brown accents that resemble rust.
The interior looks worthy of a post-apocalyptic
world as it has been stripped of virtually every panel and convenience feature.
However, drivers will still find bucket seats, a push-button ignition, and a
handful of gauges.
Power is provided by a 5.7-liter V8 crate engine
which is paired to a three-speed Turbo 350 automatic transmission. There's no
word on how much power the car makes but the seller says the engine has been
equipped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, a Holley Street Demon carburetor,
and new plugs / wires. Despite the upgrades, the motor has been built "for
reliable cruising."
The engine only has about 1,500 miles (2,414 km)
on it and the seller has the vehicle listed for a buy it now price of US$ 16,000.
