Ducati has pulled the covers off the 2018
Ducati Monster 821, celebrating 25 years of the Ducati Monster. Coming with the
famous V-twin, the Monster 821 comes clad in historic Ducati Yellow, a
throwback to the original Monster 900.
Carrying the latest iteration of the liquid-cooled
Testastretta V-twin, the Monster 821 puts out 109 hp at 9,250 rpm and 86 Nm of
torque at 7,750 rpm. Making its debut for the Ducati’s Monster 821 series naked
sports bikes is a full-colour TFT LCD display.
Also available is a Ducati up-and-down quickshifter
and Ducati Multimedia system, which come as optional accessories. Part of the
new Monster 821 design is a new racing silencer and headlight.
Taking some of the feature of the Monster 1200, the
Monster 821 also has a completely redesigned tank and tail, inspired by the
original Monster from 1992. Standard equipment is the Ducati Safety Pack, which
comprises of Bosch ABS and Ducati Traction Control, allowing for easy
adjustment of ABS, DTC and Power Modes.
Braking is done by Brembo , with dual 320 mm discs
and M4-32 monobloc radial callipers at the front, and a single calliper at the
back. Suspension is with 43 mm diameter forks, and an adjustable monoshock in
the rear.
