Fiat has operated a few styling and technology
updates to the Urban and Cross versions of the Fiat 500X, which have been taken
into the 2018MY. The visual revisions are modest, to say the least, but in
Fiat's defense, these aren’t facelifted models, but rather slightly tweaked
ones, meant to increase their life span.
The FCA-owned brand has added the Donatello Bronze
and Alpi Matte Green colors to both versions of the 500X, which come straight
from the S-Design models, and can be complemented by a range of personalization
options that has been extended with the launch of specific packs.
However, the biggest change lies inside, where the
2018 Fiat 500X now gets the next-gen Uconnect infotainment system, with a
7-inch touchscreen display. This is compatible with Android Auto and Apple
CarPlay smartphone integration, and comes with Bluetooth, audio streaming,
voice recognition, and the omnipresent AUX and USB ports.
Customers can also have a reversing camera and the
new TomTom 3D integrated navigation system by checking them from the options
list, and they can also benefit from the Uconnect Live services.
Fiat is expected to open the order books for the
'new' 500X in the coming weeks, with pricing to be announced.
