Team-BHP, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga spy pictures shed light on some of the design
details of the upcoming Maruti MPV.
The next-gen Ertiga features a significantly longer
rear overhang as evident from the new pics. This will translate to increase
third-row space. These spy pictures also reveal details of the nose section,
which appears to feature longer, narrower headlamps and round fog lamps. A set
of new multi-spoke alloy wheel design revealed in previous spy shots is can be
seen here too.
Subsequent sightings of test mules will reveal more
details regarding the next generation Maruti Ertiga. The dashboard layout, much
like the current car, is likely to be similar to the upcoming 2018 Maruti Swift
and the new Dzire. It will also share the HEARTECT platform with the two, which
is expected to result in significant weight savings.
With the current Fiat-sourced 1.3 L DDiS 200 diesel
set to be phased out by 2020, the new Ertiga could feature Suzuki’s new 1.5 L
diesel developed in-house. The 1.4 L K14B petrol might be carried over
unchanged. Petrol and diesel automatic variants with AMTs might be planned as
well.
According to a report from September, the 2018
Suzuki Ertiga will arrive in Indonesia in the first half of the next calendar
year. In India, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is likely to land in showrooms in India
by the middle of 2018.
