The sixth and current generation BMW 3 Series has
been around since 2011 and is nearing the end of its lifecycle. The G20 2019
BMW 3 Series is expected to make its first public appearance at the 2018 Geneva
International Motor Show that is scheduled to begin on March 8.
Worldscoop Forum has shared a spy picture of the
upcoming model. The image reveals the side profile of the 2019 BMW 3 Series.
According to a report from June, it will have a more progressive design with an
emphasis on sportiness and visual appeal. The report also adds that the G20 3
Series will be 60 mm longer and will sit on a 20 mm longer wheelbase.
Expect exterior design elements from the 5 Series
and 7 Series to trickle down to the next-gen 3 Series. It may even incorporate
styling cues from the BMW 8 Series and the Concept Z4. The cabin will offer
advanced high tech displays along with features like gesture control.
A new entry-level plug-in Hybrid variant called 325e
with 230 hp will be added to the lineup. Also, the next-gen BMW 330e will have
an output of 265 hp, up 17 hp, and a pure electric range of 50 km. Power
outputs of the rest of the diesel and petrol 3-Series range are likely to
witness a minor increment as well.
