The highly-anticipated Corvette C8 has been spotted
at a gas station and McDonalds in Cadillac, Michigan. Looking for more
Ferrari-esque than ever before, the mid-engine model was caught by Jake
Vandermoon who posted the pictures to Facebook earlier today.
While the car is heavily camouflaged, it appears the
Corvette will adopt a more aerodynamic front fascia with shorter overhangs.
Styling details are hard to make out but it appears the model has sweptback
headlights, larger mirrors, and intakes behind the doors.
Moving further back, we can see the rear of the car
has been lengthened for the new mid-engine setup. Elsewhere, there are circular
taillights, a center-mounted third brake light, and a four-tailpipe exhaust
system. There also appears to be an aggressive rear diffuser and stylish
lightweight alloy wheels.
Chevrolet has been extremely tight-lipped about the
next-generation Corvette but previous reports have suggested the model will be
powered by a mysterious small block V8 engine. There's word on our performance
specifications but rumors have suggested the new Corvette will cost
significantly more than its predecessor. Nothing is official but pricing could
start anywhere between US$ 65,000 and US$ 95,000.
