The new Fiat Argo actually looks relatively nice. However, after seeing
these renderings, we’re crossing our fingers Fiat doesn’t decide to make an
Argo Station Wagon.
Rendered by Maltese Design, the lengthened Argo
actually looks like it’s the real thing, so we have to give props to the
designer for doing such a fine job. Unfortunately, the Argo’s design simply
doesn’t work well as a wagon.
In place of the short and sporty rear end now sits
an elongated rear that looks bloated and rather unsightly. One of the key
reasons why the Argo looks so odd as a station wagon is because the rear window
sits more vertically than it does on the hatchback. Consequently, the wagon
loses the attractive touch of the regular Argo and looks just like any other
wagon.
Although there’s no indication of a station wagon
variant being offered, customers of the Argo hatchback still have a range of
options to choose from in creating their dream hatch. These include the
availability of a 77 hp 1.0-liter three-cylinder, a 109 hp, 1.3-liter
four-cylinder and a 1.8-liter E.torq unit delivering 139 hp.
