Mercedes has
decided to start guiding the current models towards the exit, this time with a
special "final" edition for the G65 AMG version.
The Mercedes-AMG G65 Final Edition is said to
"reflect the successful story of the world's most powerful series
production off-roader". It will come out in just 65 examples worldwide,
and each one starts at € 310,233 in Germany, which equals to US$ 365,213 at today's
exchange rates.
At its heart, it carries a 6.0-liter V12 lump, with
twin turbochargers and multi-spark ignition, making 630 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. Transferring the output to all four corners is a 7-speed
dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Naught to 100 km/h takes just 5.3 sec, and
top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h.
Its sporty appearance is highlighted by the matte
bronze elements that adorn its body and can be found in the grille surround,
underride guard, mirrors, and 21-inch wheels. The V12 SUV boasts
AMG Sport trim strips on the sides, silver brake calipers, matte black running
boards and tailpipes, and high-gloss black exterior protective strips.
A similar theme is continued inside, where
designo black nappa leather, topstitching, and carbon fiber elements can be
found. Mercedes-AMG's designers have also added floor mats with leather edging,
and the milled 'Edition' lettering in the grab handle.
