To celebrate the international media launch of the
new generation X3, BMW has dropped an extensive image gallery, which further detail their premium compact SUV. Currently in its third
generation, the vehicle continues to challenge the likes of the Audi Q5 and
Mercedes-Benz GLC.
It has grown in size compared to its predecessor,
but if you're not a car person, then chances are that you won't notice it out
in the open, despite its 3D kidney grille and restyled panels, all of which
have an evolutionary design.
Inside, the manufacturer chose to focus the cockpit
layout around the driver, and this can only mean that it should be a peach to
sit behind the wheel, in theory at least, because we have yet to know whether
it lives up to its predecessor, or, better yet, if it's superior to it.
BMW has made a very interesting addition to the
new-gen X3 lineup, which comes in the form of the M40i version. This is the
first-ever M Performance variant in the lineup, and uses a 3.0-liter inline-six
engine that delivers 360 PS and 500 Nm of torque to the
ground. Naught to 100 km/h takes 4.8 seconds, and top speed is
electronically capped at 250 km/h.
