Before Nissan’s all-electric SUV premieres at
October’s Tokyo Motor Show, Behance designer Kbleber Silva has rendered the
vehicle. No one outside of Nissan has any idea of what the
SUV will look like but we do know it will share its underpinnings and battery
technologies with the latest-generation Nissan Leaf. Consequently, it seems
likely that it will receive some styling inspiration from the Leaf.
In creating his rendering, Silva has essentially
grafted some styling elements of the Leaf onto the front-end of the Nissan
Kicks to create an all-electric SUV. Compared to the standard Kicks, the
vehicle designed adopts a faux grille, has a charge port in its nose just like
the Leaf and receives headlights similar to those of the electric hatchback.
From what we know of the SUV, the vehicle will be
slightly larger than the Nissan Qashqai and probably be sold with the same
40-kWh battery as the 2018 Leaf. Like the Leaf, the SUV’s range will sit near
150 miles which will be less than what the upcoming Tesla Model Y will muster
up. However, the vehicle should follow in the footsteps of the Nissan Leaf by
undercutting its rivals in price.
