While Polestar is still busy teasing us with parts
of a photo showing the rear end of its upcoming model, a fresh render provides
us with what Volvo’s standalone performance brand should be bringing out on
October 17.
Polestar has still to confirm what type of car it
will be, with a two-door coupe being the most probable answer. Vvmasterdrfan put together the available
puzzle pieces and filled in the blanks, with his render showing a very S90-like
rear end, complete with the trademark boomerang lights, dual exhausts and wide
hips.
It almost looks exactly the same with the Volvo
Concept Coupe that debuted back in 2013 and gained universal appraisal for its
sexy looks. We wouldn’t kick it out of bed, that’s for sure. The latest reports talk about a hybrid coupe
with around 600 hp, based on the upcoming S60 which is due next year. The hybrid
powertrain will have a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter petrol
inline-four at its heart, much like the powertrain found in the Volvo XC90 T8.
Power will be transmitted to all four wheels via an automatic transmission
which should make the new Swedish coupe a monster off the line.
Only one week is left until Polestar lifts the veil
off their first model, so stay tuned.
