Way2Speed Performance, a vehicle customisation house
from Vellore, Tamil Nadu have come up with a plug and play dual sport kit for
the Royal Enfield Himalayan called ‘El Diablo’.
El Diablo is Spanish for ‘The Devil’. The kit costs
INR 29,999 and comes with a host of parts which give the bike a unique look.
The bike features a three-part Enduro quarter fairing. Way2Speed says the
fairing is aerodynamically efficient. The high-lift front fender is aerodynamic
as well and is longer for off-roading purposes. The high-set rear fender is
extra-long as well.
The bike features a custom handlebar for better
manoeuvrability, and they come with knuckle guards to protect the hands while
treading the path untrodden. The indicators are on the knuckle guards. The
custom house says that with the new kit, the overall aerodynamic drag is
reduced considerably. It took them approximately over 300 man hours to build
this custom kit. It also includes saddle stays on the sides and a choice of
three different exhaust systems. The body kit features a red and white paint
job which is reminiscent of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak.
Apart from the parts above, the motorcycle is stock.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan employs an all-new 411 cc single-cylinder SOHC
engine with oil-cooler and carburettor. The mill is mated to a five-speed
gearbox. The motor develops 24.5 PS of power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque
at 4,000-4,500 rpm.
The long travel 41 mm telescopic front fork and the
rear monoshock with linkage are stock as well. The motorcycle rides on
dual-purpose tyres shod on the spoke wheels that measure 90/90-21 at the front;
and 120/90-17 at the rear. Brakes include 300 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc.
