The eighth generation Toyota Camry made its Middle
East debut at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show last week. Toyota showcased the 2018
Toyota Camry Hybrid at the show.
New Toyota Camry Hybrid measures 4,885 mm in
length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,445 mm in height. The hybrid sedan has a 2,825
mm wheelbase and a 145 mm ground clearance. It is powered by the A25A-FXS
2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 178 PS at 5,700 rpm and 221
Nm of torque from 3,600-5,200 rpm. The 3NM electric motor generating 120 PS and
202 Nm of torque assists this TNGA-based engine. Both sources together deliver
211 PS. The all-new Camry’s hybrid variant has a fuel economy rating (JC08 test
cycle) of up to 33.4 km/l.
The 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid
features bi-beam LED headlamps with three-level stacked LED clearance lamps, 3D
lower grille, 18-inch wheels and LED tail lamps. A large panoramic moonroof
lets in sunlight and fresh air. Toyota has equipped the hybrid sedan with
7-inch colour driver information display, colour head-up display, genuine
leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, 8-way power adjustable
driver’s seat and an infotainment system with an 8-inch display and navigation.
Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Toyota at
Al-Futtaim Motors, has confirmed that the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid will go on
sale in the Middle East next year.
