Now that BMW has taken off the X2's digital
camouflage, showing the production car off in three different specs, the only
thing missing for driving enthusiasts is a full-fledged M model. One of the
versions that was presented during the X2's unveiling was the M Sport,
featuring Dark Shadow design elements, 20" optional wheels and body color
side skirts and wheel arch trim.
From the M Sport, you don't have to go a long way to
imagine what an X2 M might look like, demonstrated here by X-Tomi Design. All
he basically did was add a more aggressive bumper, an M-badge for the grille,
black roof and wheels, while lowering the ride height.
BMW has yet to confirm an M-powered flagship model
for the X2 range, though if it was to arrive, it would certainly give the
381-horsepower Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 something to worry about. For technical and
other reasons, BMW would not use the straight-six engine from the M2 Coupe, and
would most probably come up with a crazy-charged 2.0-liter four.
As for looks, you could argue that the X2 already looks pretty sporty, so fitting it with
bulkier bumpers and bigger wheels sounds like a no-brainer.
