Facebook page Auto Adrenalin has shared spy pictures
of the Ford Figo facelift and a crossover variant based on it alongside each
other. The updated Figo is expected to arrive sometime next year armed with
changes to the looks and the engine compartment.
According to the Facebook post, the exterior updates
include a new honeycomb grille and new wheel covers for the Figo. The new Figo
will get reprofiled headlights and an updated tail lamp layout. Inside, the
dashboard layout will be updated to accommodate a Ford EcoSport-like floating
touchscreen AVN with SYNC3 support. Updated upholstery and feature additions in
the form of rear parking sensors and a reverse parking camera could also be on
the cards.
Launching alongside the Figo facelift will be a
cross variant. It adds body armour stretching from the lower lip of the front
bumper, around the wheel arches to the rear bumper and roof rails. It rides on
dark 6-spoke alloy wheels. The cross variant may be christened Ford Figo Active
(like Ford Fiesta Active) or it may be called Ford Figo Freestyle.
A report published back in August 2017 claims that
the current four-cylinder 1.2 L Ti-VCT petrol engine that powers the Figo will
be replaced by a three-cylinder 1.2 L member of the new Dragon engine family.
The 1.5 L TDCi diesel engine is likely to be carried over unchanged.
Brazilian media reports that Ford will launch the Ka
(Figo) facelift in 2018, followed by the launch of the updated Ka+ (Aspire)
later in the year.
