At the 2017 Dubai Motor Show last week, the GMC Desert Fox Middle East concept had its world premiere. GMC has created the concept exclusively for the Middle East region.

The GMC Desert Fox Middle East concept pays homage to the GMC Desert Fox Jimmy and GMC Desert Fox Sierra first released in 1977. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the launch, GMC exhibited a renovated 1979 GMC Desert Fox Jimmy also at the show.

GMC has painted the GMC Desert Fox Middle East concept with a desert colour similar to the classic GMC Desert Fox models’ Buckskin colour. The colour and pattern of the five-band stripping on the hood and the sides are also similar to those of these classic models. The same goes for the ‘Desert Fox’ insignia on the front quarter panels. There are two tall safety flags for emergency cases.

GMC has created the GMC Desert Fox Middle East concept on the basis of the 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. Made especially for desert use, the Desert Fox Middle East concept is fitted with a slew of special parts. These include off-road bumpers, front recovery winch, Baja style fenders, beadlock wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR desert racing tyres, full custom under armour with ‘GMC’ branding in red colour, desert tuned front and rear suspension, tyre/jerry can carrier, performance exhaust system, sports bar with ‘Sierra’ branding, LED roof lights and off-road assist steps with ‘GMC’ branding in red.

GMC has not announced any plans to introduce a production version of the GMC Desert Fox Middle East concept.
