Hyundai Sime Darby Motors has officially introduced
the 2.0i MPi Premium 4WD Tucson, bringing the number of variants available
locally for the third-gen SUV to four. The Premium 4WD takes over the
range-topping position previously held by the 2.0 CRDi diesel, which made its
debut in August.
The other two Tucson variants on sale in this market
are the 2.0 Mpi Elegance, which was launched last November, and the 1.6 T-GDI
that was announced in June.
The Premium 4WD Tucson is powered by the same
naturally-aspirated Nu 2.0 litre MPi four-cylinder petrol engine found on the
Elegance. Output figures for the mill are identical – 155 PS at 6,200 rpm and
192 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The variant features twin LED positioning headlamps
with static bending lights, dual-zone fully automatic air-conditioning, a
panoramic sunroof and a roof rack for loading flexibility on top of that found
on the 2.0 CRDi. Safety kit includes six airbags, ESC, vehicle stability
management, hill start assist, hill descent control, ABS with EBD and brake
assist and Isofix rear child seat anchors.
The 2.0 MPi Premium 4WD is priced at RM 159,888
on-the-road without insurance, and like the other Tucson variants, comes with a
five-year or 300,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty as well as a 50,000 km
or three-years free service programme.
