Suzuki Motorcycles is all set to launch the Suzuki
Intruder 150 on November 7th. The bike has been spied by Facebook user Nalin,
and here are the pictures and the walk-around video.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 sports a curvaceous yet muscular
design. The bulbous headlamp is complemented by a sculpted tank with large
extensions on the sides, which cleverly cover up the relatively puny single
cylinder 154cc engine. The low seat is shaped for maximum comfort, and the
pillion seat gets a large single piece grab rail.
The rider’s footpegs are forward set and ensure a
laid-back riding stance. On the tail section, a keyhole is visible, which could
indicate the presence of the tools compartment inside. As per the leaked
brochure scans, the bike draws power from a 154.9 cc single cylinder SOHC
engine with air cooling. It produces 14.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of
torque at 6,000 rpm. The carburetted engine mates with a 5-speed transmission.
It is the same engine that does duty in the Gixxer SF.
The bike rides on telescopic front fork and a rear
monoshock. For anchorage, it uses disc on both ends. On the front fender, the
ABS sticker is visible. However, expect the system to be a single channel unit
a la the Gixxer SF.
The Japanese brand is likely to price the bike at a
premium of INR 10,000 – 12,000 over the Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS. The Gixxer SF ABS
costs 95,499, ex-showroom, Delhi. The only rival for the bike in the segment is
the Bajaj Avenger 150.
