The 2017 VW Polo had its Asian debut at the 2018 Taipei Motor Show. Volkswagen launched the all-new VW Polo in Taiwan at the event.

The 2017 VW Polo is 4,053 mm long, 1,751 mm wide and 1,461 mm tall. It has a 2,548 mm wheelbase. Underpinned by the MQB platform, the sixth generation VW Polo is 81 mm longer, 69 mm wider and 7 mm lower than its predecessor. It has 94 mm longer wheelbase than that of the model it replaces. The redesigned Polo offers 351 litres off boot space, expandable to 1,125 litres with the rear seats folded.


In Taiwan, the 2017 VW Polo is available with only a 1.0-litre TSI engine coupled to the 7-speed DSG transmission. The turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine produces 115 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It sends drive to the front wheels. In this configuration, the all-new Polo can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h.

LED headlights with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, power mirrors with heating, electric sunroof, 10.25-inch Active Info Display virtual instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control system, 8-inch Composition Media touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control system with speed limiting function are some of the noteworthy features of the 2017 VW Polo.


2017 VW Polo is available in Taiwan in three grades: Trendline, Comfortline, and R-Line. In addition, Volkswagen also offers the 2017 VW Polo Beats as well as a limited-edition model restricted to 100 units. Prices start at TWD 748,000.
