A new spy video has emerged online revealing the
interior of the upcoming 2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift). The video shared by
YouTube channel “Automobile Enthusiast’s” shows the camouflaged front and rear
sections and the dashboard of the updated model.
The nose features an updated bumper with new fog
lamp enclosures that appear to house LED DRLs as well. As seen in previous spy
shots, the 2018 Hyundai i20 will get a cascading grille design to bring it in
line with Hyundai’s current family look. Changes to the rear will include new
taillight detailing and the migration of the number plate from the bumper to
the boot lid.
The test mule does not feature projector headlamps,
alloy wheels, and request sensors on the door handle for keyless entry. This
may be explained by the fact that this is the automatic variant of the i20.
Hyundai currently offers the i20 AT in Magna trim, which misses out on certain
features such as the ones mentioned above. However, the image of the interior
reveals a touchscreen, which is currently not offered on the automatic variant.
Changes to the interior are minimal. The layout of
buttons on either side of the touchscreen appears to have been revised
slightly. The central aircon vents get silver finish surrounds. Hyundai could
use the 2018 Auto Expo as the platform to unveil the updated i20 in India. The
event is scheduled from 7 to 11 February 2018.
