Spy shots of the Hyundai i20 facelift continue to pour in. The latest set of images comes courtesy IAB reader Gokulraj G Kanagaraj. The mid-life refresh will give the Hyundai i20 a new look. An Auto Expo debut in February next year is on the cards for the 2018 Hyundai i20.

The heavy camouflage masking the front and rear sections indicates that these parts of the i20’s exterior will get major updates. Despite Hyundai’s best efforts to hide the changes, bits like the new ‘cascading’ grill with updated mesh design, new front bumper, and revised tail lamp graphics are partially visible. Another noticeable change is the migration of the number plate from the rear bumper to the boot lid. The presence of plastic wheel covers indicates this particular example might be a lower or mid-level spec i20.

Last week’s spy shot of the 2018 Hyundai i20’s interior revealed a setup identical to the current model’s. The upholstery and the dashboard’s colour scheme seen in the image are identical to the current i20’s interior. However, the final updates will only be confirmed closer to the launch date.

The 1.2 L Kappa petrol with a 5-speed manual gearbox, 1.4 L Gamma petrol with a 4-speed automatic, and the 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel with a 6-speed manual will be carried forward largely unchanged. They might be slightly retuned to aid better fuel efficiency.
