Toyota are selling the 86 with the 'GT' prefix throughout Europe, with no major styling or technical differences to the one offered on our shores. However, the 'GT' moniker is coming to North America too, though as a new trim level for the 2018MY, reports CarsDirect, citing a leaked order guide.

The 2018 Toyota 86 GT (not to be confused with Europe's GT 86) brings new leather upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, and parking brake handle, with silver contrast stitching, heated front seats, multi-function steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, and an "anti-theft device".

All models get a tweaked version of the 4.2-inch infotainment system, which displays the G-force meter, tachometer, torque output, and temperature, whereas the modified LED fog lamps at the front, an "underbody aerodynamic panel", and body-color accents complete it.

The reports says that the 2018 Toyota 86 GT will go on sale from US$ 29,280, including a US$ 895 destination charge, for the six-speed manual gearbox version, while the six-speed automatic model can be had with a US$ 720 premium.
