Emflux Motors, a start-up from Bengaluru is working
on a high-performance electric bike which offers performance equivalent to a
middleweight motorcycle.
Varun Mittal is the CEO and Co-founder of the
company, and it has a 22-member team working on the bike’s development.
CarandBike reports that the bike will have a top speed of 170 km/h, and can
sprint to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The claimed range is 200 km, and the battery
takes 36 minutes to reach 80 percent charge.
The company plans to showcase the
prototype, currently called Model 1, at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. As per
the media site, the design, chassis and the drivetrain are all developed
in-house. Emflux is currently testing the prototype and intends to finish the
product by the end of June 2017.
The Model 1 will be a faired motorcycle; and the
company is also planning to introduce Model 1 in the future. It will be a naked
version, with two ranges: 150 km, and a 220 km range variant. Another upcoming
product, Model 3 would be a power cruiser with superior specifications when
compared to Model 1. The company intends to make a limited batch of 200
motorcycles of Model 1, and is likely to price the bike at INR 5 lakh.
