Infiniti has provided a fleeting glimpse of the
large sedan concept it plans to unveil at the 2018 Detroit motor show. We only
have the one shot, but there are a few hints as to what we can expect. Alfonso
Albaisa, senior vice president of global design, says the concept “heralds a
new generation of Infiniti.”
Karim Habib, Infiniti executive design director,
suggested the car will have a sloping, coupe-like roofline. We’d suggest the
car will be a rival for the Lexus LS and Mercedes S-Class, albeit a slightly
swoopier take on the theory.
Infiniti’s announcement comes just days after
reports circulated that the luxury marque is planning a large sedan concept for
Detroit – potentially a successor to the 2014 Q80 Inspiration, and the preview
of an upcoming production model.
The car will be revealed on January 15 at the 2018
Detroit motor show.
