Royal Enfield has launched the Royal Enfield
Himalayan FI at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo. The Royal Enfield Himalayan has a simple, no-frills
yet rugged design. The motorcycle is available for booking at the price of THB
169,000.
Powering the adventure bike is a 411 cc single cylinder SOHC engine
with air and oil cooling. With fuel injection, the powerplant produces 24.5 bhp
of power at 6,500 rpm, and 32 Nm at 4,000-4,500 rpm. The engine works in tandem
with a 5-speed transmission.
For optimal terrain taming capability, Royal Enfield
has endowed the motorcycle with 41 mm telescopic front forks offering 200 mm of
travel. The rear monoshock with linkage offers 180 mm wheel travel. A 300 mm
front and a 240 mm rear disc take care of the anchorage. ABS is absent on the
display model.
The display bikes features twin Royal Enfield hard
case panniers on the sides. The 21 inch front and 17 inch rear spoke wheels are
shod with 90-section front and 120 section rear Ceat dual purpose tyres. The
motorcycle weighs 185 kg kerb, and comes in two colours- Snow and Granite. The
bike maker has also launched two new colour variants of the Classic 500.
