Citroen has introduced us to the updated version of the electric E-Mehari, which now comes with a new interior and a hard top complete with side windows.

Following from last year’s limited “Styled by Courrèges” edition, the new Citroen E-Mehari features an electric motor with 20 percent more torque, a new dashboard, new seats, more equipment as standard, a hard top option, better thermal and acoustic isolation, while there’s also a new welded structure with reinforced anticorrosion treatment.

The electric motor now makes 166 Nm of peak torque up to 3,700 rpm and a constant 140 Nm beyond that point while the Li-polymer battery pack gives the new E-Mehari an official total driving range of 195 km, according to the NEDC. Citroen claims that the battery pack can be fully charged in 10.5 hours with the use of a 16A fast-charge system, or in 16.5 hours via a 10A household socket.

Inside the changes include new front seats that are now height-adjustable and feature the Easy-Entry system for easier access to the back seats. The new storage compartments on the central console and on the door panels add precious points to the practicality of the E-Mehari. The redesigned dashboard is inspired by the company’s other models, including the C3 and C4 Cactus.

Features like the plastic body or the increased ground clearance remain, as does the ability to wash the car with a hose inside and out thanks to the waterproof seat upholstery, the special door panel trims and the rubber floor mats.

Pricing for the new Citroen E-Mehari starts from 19,500 euros for the soft-top version and 20,700 euros for the hard-top model in France, including the 6,000-euro local incentive for EVs.
