CarToq has illustrated the facelifted Maruti Ciaz in a colour similar to Pearl Sangria Red and a shade of blue.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz will feature minor visual changes, mostly concentrated on the front. Spy photos suggest that the facelift will bring a slimmer and wider radiator grille in a sharper design, more aggressive bumper, reshaped air dam grille and a hood applique to the car. The profile would remain as is, save for new alloy wheel design(s).

Inside, the Maruti Ciaz could gain aesthetic revisions related to the trim and upholstery and enhancements for the Smartplay infotainment system, but nothing is known for sure as of now. One of the Maruti Ciaz’s biggest cons is that it is very underpowered compared to its competitors. Maruti Suzuki has successfully tested a new 1.5-litre diesel engine in the car, but we are yet to know if there is a plan to commercialise it with the mid-cycle update. The existing model is available with 1.4-litre VVT petrol (92.45 PS/130 Nm) and 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel (90 PS/200 Nm) engines.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz’s launch timeline is unclear. It could arrive towards the middle of the year, a couple months after the 2018 Maruti Swift goes on sale in February.
