The bookings for the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range
has commenced unofficially in the country, reports Motoroids. Price of the
bikes have not been announced yet.
The booking amount stands at INR 1 lakh, and the
deliveries are planned to commence by the end of April, this year. Triumph
unveiled the 2018 Tiger 800 range at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. In
its 2018 guise, the Tiger 800 new full-colour TFT instrument panel with
illuminated switchgear, all-LED lighting system on higher-end models, and an
all-new five-position adjustable windscreen.
Powering the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range is the 800
cc in-line three-cylinder DOHC engine. The powerplant punches out 95 PS of
power at 9,500 rpm, and 79 Nm of torque at 8,050 rpm. Triumph has tuned the
engine to be more responsive than before. The six-speed gearbox gets a shorter
ratio first gear for improved low-speed traction. There are up to six riding
modes, including Road, Rain, Off-road, Sport, Rider-programmable, and an
all-new Off-road Pro mode for experienced riders.
The motorcycle features higher specification
suspension too, thanks to the inclusion of Showa suspension on the XR models,
adjustable setup on the top-spec XRT. For off-road centric variants, Triumph
has included WP long-travel suspension. The bike also comes with new front
Brembo twin discs as standard on the mid and top-spec models. ABS and traction
control are standard across all models. Expect more details about the upcoming
