New Spy Shots of the Hongqi HS7 SUV, the production
version of the Hongqi S-Concept. The HS7 will debut in April on the Beijing
Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market soon thereafter.
Engines are the same as in the Hongqi H7 sedan: a
188 Hp 1.8 turbo, a 204 Hp 2.0 turbo, and a 231 Hp 3.0. A hybrid variant may be
added to the lineup in the future. The HS7 is the first mass-market Hongqi SUV,
but not the last. The brand will launch a smaller compact SUV in 2019. The
ultra expensive Hongqi LS5 SUV appears to be a government-only car and won’t be
available on the general market.
The interior will be loaded with leather. The
instrument panel is fully digital. There will be a large touch screen in the
middle flanked by vertical air vents. Size wise it seems about as big as a BMW
X5 or Volvo XC90.
