Genovation has used the Consumer Electronics Show to
introduce its new GXE. Based on the Chevrolet Corvette, the GXE has a modestly
revised exterior with a new front fascia that features integrated LED lighting
units. The car has also been equipped with a rear wing, a massive diffuser, and
carbon fiber wheels that are backed up by a Brembo carbon ceramic braking
system.
The GXE has an eye-catching appearance thanks in
part to its stylish paint job which can consist of "up to 15 individual
coatings of paint to ensure a deep, durable and sustainable finish." The
company also says each model will be painted a bespoke color to "meet the
customer’s wish for a unique vehicle."
The unique styling continues in the cabin as drivers
will find leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as a new infotainment system
and a Harman audio system. Genovation declined to release detailed performance
specifications but the company said the car has "state-of-the-art
batteries, inverters and electric twin-motors." The motors produce more
than 800 hp and 948 Nm of torque. This enables the car to
accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds and hit a top speed in
excess of 354 km/h.
Owners can order the car with either a seven-speed
manual or a paddle-shift automatic gearbox. Regardless of which transmission is
selected, Genovation says drivers can expect to travel more than 281
km on a single charge during normal driving conditions.
Production will be limited to 75 units and pricing
starts at US$ 750,000. The first deliveries are scheduled for later this year.
