It may not have a motorsport pedigree or a Ferrari
V10 engine, but this Iveco Domino Orlandi was custom-built for Scuderia’s
Formula 1 team in 2001.
The vehicle remained in service until the end of the
2005 season, and during this period, it was used by Michael Schumacher and
Rubens Barrichello, along with other team personnel.
Inside its 12-meter long Rosso Corsa-finished
body, it originally had two separate apartments, LCD TV, computer table,
satellite phone, internet connection, wardrobe, and other amenities. However,
in the possession of its current owner, who has had it since 2009, it was
converted once again.
It now sports various electrical and mechanical
upgrades, luxurious double bed, complete bathroom with ceramic lavatory,
independent heating and air-conditioning systems and a Bose home theater. A
220-volt on-board diesel generator makes sure everything’s powered.
Speaking of power, this custom-made Iveco bus uses a
380hp engine that’s married to an 8-speed automatic transmission by ZF, and has
covered less than 90,000 km since new.
The owner, who describes it as “in overall very good
condition” and “maintained regardless of cost”, is looking to sell it at the
Bonhams auction that takes place in Paris, France, on February . The auction
house estimates that it should sell for around
€ 125,000 - € 150,000 (US$ 155,375 - US$ 186,450).
