Kawasaki may showcase its
supercharged sports tour, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX at the 2018 India Auto Expo
in February. Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX made its global debut at the
2017 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. The H2 SX is a touring oriented take on the
legendary Ninja H2.
Kawasaki has engineered its Balanced Supercharged
technology with a focus on real-world street use rather than outright speed.
There are two variants, the standard and the SE variant. The SE model comes
with TFT multifunction instrumentation; LED cornering lights; Kawasaki Launch
Control mode; Kawasaki Quickshifter (up and down), and a slightly bigger
windshield as well.
Powering the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX is a 998cc in-line
four with supercharger. The DOHC mill makes 200 PS at 11,000 rpm, and 137.3 Nm
at 9,500 rpm. Kawasaki has tuned the engine for better fuel efficiency and low-
mid range torque. The bike has a efficiency figure of 17.5 km/l. Electronics
include Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF). This oversees KTRC
(including traction and wheel lift control); KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent
anti-lock Brake System), including pitching and corner braking control; and
Kawasaki Engine Brake Control. The engine and the exhaust system are approximately
3 kg lighter than the H2.
For suspension, the bike employs fully adjustable 43
mm upside down front fork; and a fully adjustable rear New Uni-Trak,
gas-charged monoshock with piggyback reservoir. The bike comes to a halt using
320 mm dual front discs and a single 250 mm rear disc. In the UK market, the
standard variant starts from GBP 15,099; and the price of the
SE variant stands at GBP 18,099, both prices include 20% VAT.
