The Yamaha Aerox 155 S-Version has been reportedly spotted at a Yamaha service centre in India, picture courtesy Motoroids.

This particular Yamaha Aerox 155 S-Version (The R-Version gets petal disc and upgraded suspension) is the Matte Blue colour variant. The website reports that the scooter may enter the market on the 25th of next month. The automatic scooter was first unveiled in Malaysia in October 2016, where it is sold under the name Yamaha NVX 155. Other markets where the Aerox 155 is retailed include Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The design language of the Yamaha Aerox 155 harks back to the Yamaha MT motorcycle range, thanks to the aggressive cuts and slashes in the bodywork. Notable features include a 25-litre underseat storage; LED headlamp and taillamp; fuel tank lid on the central tunnel; mobile charging point; smart key system; Stop Start System; and a 5.8-inch LCD display.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 employs a 155.1 cc SOHC VVA single cylinder mill with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine pairs with an automatic transmission. It makes 14.95 PS of power at 8,000 rpm, and 13.8 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The fuel tank can hold 4.6 litres of juice. Brakes include a front disc with ABS and a rear drum brake. The scooter rides on telescopic front forks, and twin rear shock absorbers. The 14-inch alloy wheels are shod with 110-section front and 140-section rear rubber.

Reports of Yamaha launching this scooter are to be taken with a pinch of salt as the cost will be prohibitively high because of its features and technology. If Yamaha launches the Aerox 155, it would be the first and the most technologically advanced performance scooter in the country. Expect more details at the 2018 Auto Expo.
