Lamborghini has produced some of the best supercars of all time. The vehicles usually have paint schemes that show off their sharp lines – red, yellow, or orange. But the owner of this 1974 Espada on Bring a Trailer went in a different direction.

After taking a quick glance at the antique Lamborghini, we thought it was a joke. Who in their right mind would take a perfectly good Espada, which came from the factory in a gorgeous shade of green, and paint it pink? Unfortunately, this car wasn’t painted pink once, but twice – once in 1979 and then another time in 1992.

There’s some good news, though, as the vehicle also underwent a refurbishment during the second paint job in ’92. This included an engine removal, replacing the four-wheel disc brakes and rebuilding the carburetors, and the interior was upholstered with white Connolly leather. While we like the white interior, the contrasting pink Wilton wool carpets are a little off-putting.

The pink paint job won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but the 3.9-liter V12 engine with double-overhead camshafts and six carburetors should appeal to any enthusiast. The engine puts out 320 horsepower and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. While that doesn’t sound like a lot by today’s standards, the Espada could get to 60 mph in roughly seven seconds and onto a top speed of 250 km/h. That, as Doug DeMuro found, is adequate enough to have a good time.

Incredibly, the car has 98,832 miles on its odometer, but the real mileage of the vehicle is actually estimated to be in the neighborhood of 110,000 miles. That’s a lot of miles for an Italian exotic, but things are, reportedly, working well. The only items that need attention are the odometer and the air conditioning.

One of the cooler parts of the sale is that the original window sticker is pictured and included in the sale. The vehicle had a suggested retail price of US$ 32,750, but the bidding at the moment with seven days left is already at US$ 55,000. That’s a lot of money for a pink Espada. But this is definitely one of the more unique examples on the road – plus, you can have it repainted if you so wish.
