The 2018 Hyundai i20 has made its world debut at
Auto Expo 2018. The facelifted Hyundai i20 is now officially available in
India.
The Hyundai i20 has received a number of visual
changes with the facelift. On the outside, now it features a Cascading front
grille, remodelled bumpers, reshaped fog lamps, front air curtains, new 16-inch
diamond-cut alloy wheels, bigger tail lamps with new graphics and redesigned
tailgate and repositioned license plate (rear). Passion Orange and Fiery Red
are two new exterior colours, and both are available in a dual-tone scheme as
well.
Inside, as an option to orange inserts, red inserts
are available now in the dual-tone model (Fiery Red with Black roof). Hyundai
has added a rear seat armrest with cup holder and offers a sliding type armrest
at the front as an option now. The company has upgraded the infotainment system
to function with lesser number of buttons and support the Auto Link mobile app,
which helps the car owner keep a check on the vehicle health, monitor driving
pattern, manage parking, get road side assistance and book a service request.
Hyundai has dropped the
1.4-litre petrol engine and the 4-speed automatic transmission in the Hyundai
i20. The 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and
the 1.4-litre diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission both
continue in the same tuning. The petrol engine produces 83 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Reports had said that the company
will offer a new CVT option in the 1.2L petrol engine model, but that hasn’t
happened. The diesel engine develops 90 PS at 4,000 rpm and 219 Nm of torque.
The 2018 Hyundai i20’s prices start at INR 5.34 lakh
(ex-showroom Delhi).
