Hyundai has announced the pricing details of the
Kona for the US market, with sales to launch this March. The new Hyundai Kona’s
range kicks off at US$ 19,500 MSRP for the entry-level SE model. Power is provided
by a 147 hp 2.0-liter engine paired to a standard six-speed automatic
transmission.If you want all-wheel drive, Hyundai will charge you an extra US$ 1,300 while the contrast roof option comes only with the SEL grade which
starts from US$ 21,300.
The most powerful version of the Hyundai Kona uses a
175 hp turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that comes only with a seven-speed
dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Prices start from US$ 24,700 for the Limited front-wheel drive version,
with the all-wheel drive system commanding the same US$ 1,300 fee. Sitting at the
top of the range is the Hyundai Kona Ultimate AWD, priced at US$ 28,700.
Hyundai’s latest crossover is based on a brand new
platform, claiming to offer great interior space and good ground clearance.
Front-wheel drive models are fitted with a torsion beam suspension at the rear.
All-wheel drive Konas get a more sophisticated multi-link layout.
The dashboard hosts an eight-inch infotainment
system that comes with standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with
Sirius XM Radio, HD Radio and Blue Link LTE connectivity services. Other
interior features include a wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones
and a heads-up display.
Hyundai also offers its smallest crossover to date
with a complete range of available active safety systems, including Forward
Collision-Avoidance Assist along with Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist,
Driver Attention Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
