Isuzu Malaysia has announced that it has updated its
D-Max range of pick-up trucks for the 2018 model year. The new models come with
minor equipment upgrades as well as a new colour.
Pricing has risen across the board, with the single cab
variants now priced at RM85,671 for the 2.5 litre 4×4 manual and RM 91,250 for
the 3.0 litre 4×4 manual. The double cab 2.5 litre models start from RM 85,989
for the 4×2 Hi-Ride manual, rising up to RM 95,741 for the 4×4 manual, RM 105,811
for the 4×4 Premium manual and RM 108,991 for the 4×4 auto.
The V-Cross 3.0 litre models are priced
at RM 116,892 for the 4×4 auto, RM 115,249 for the 4×4 Premium manual and
RM 123,517 for the 4×4 Premium auto. Lastly, the range-topping Z-Prestige
retails at RM 122,559 for the 2.5 litre model (RM 119,379 without the bed lid)
and RM 130,354 for the 3.0 litre model.
Kicking off the list of additions is a new
infotainment system for the Premium and Z-Prestige 2.5L and 3.0L models.
Although the system retains the use of an eight-inch touchscreen, it adds
navigation (with built-in locations of official Isuzu outlets) and smartphone
screen mirroring. The Premium 3.0L and Z-Prestige models also gain new leather
upholstery with rectangular geometric shapes.
At the back, Z-Prestige models get a sliding cargo
tray that is an option on other models – this makes retrieving items from the
bed easier and reduces the risk of back injury, Isuzu says. There’s also a new
Cavalry Purple Mica option that replaces the current Nautilus Blue Mica hue.
The Malaysian models receive the existing 4JK1-TCX
2.5 litre oil burner making 136 PS at 3,600 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 1,800
to 2,800 rpm, as well as the 4JJ1-TCX 3.0 litre mill producing 177 PS at 3,600
rpm and 380 Nm between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. Transmission options include
five-speed manual and automatic units, with either rear- or four-wheel drive.
