Carscoops photographers recently caught the facelifted
Audi TT and TT-RS undergoing testing and now we’re getting a glimpse of the
middle child.
Snapped in snowy conditions, the facelifted TTS is
instantly recognizable as designers didn’t make any drastic changes. The car has been equipped with a new front bumper which features sportier
air intakes. The headlights also have thin strips of camouflage of them and
this suggests they could receive some minor updates as well.
The rest of the design largely carries over but the
rear fascia has subtle styling tweaks. The modest upgrades are expected to
continue in the cabin as the car will likely have an upgraded digital
instrument cluster, revised trim / upholstery options and additional
semi-autonomous driving technology.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is
expected to carryover but it remains to be seen if there will be any
performance modifications. If Audi eschews upgrades, we can expect the engine
to produce 310 PS and 380 Nm of torque. This enables the
coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 4.6 seconds
before topping out at 250 km/h.
The facelifted TT lineup is expected to be
introduced later this year and rumors have suggested there could be a new
entry-level variant which uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
