The Porsche Macan continues to rake up impressive
sales for the German brand and soon, will be given a refresh that includes a
tweaked design and some improved technologies.
Carscoops spy photographers snapped a thinly-disguised
Macan prototype testing in the snow. To the casual observer, the crossover
appears largely identical to the outgoing model. For the most part, this is
true but strip away the black tape hiding key exterior elements and we’re set
to find some notable tweaks.
Porsche will update the bumpers
and lights of the facelifted Macan. Although not evident on this prototype,
we’re told that the updated Macan will have an LED strip running the width of
the rear, similar to the Porsche Panamera and 992-generation 911.
Numerous changes will also be made in the cabin,
including the implementation of a larger infotainment screen and the relocation
of the air vents.
The updates will be important to keep the Macan looking fresh
for the coming years, particularly with big changes afoot for the 911 and
impending all-electric Porsche models, including the Mission E.
Porsche has been testing the facelifted Macan for
over 12 months now. Consequently, a reveal date is likely to come in the first
half of the year.
