Suzuki is developing the facelifted version of the
Vitara crossover, with Carscoops spies spotting a test car near the Arctic Circle
where they managed to take a look into the interior as well.
The car features pretty much the same amount of camouflage with
our previous scoops. The wrap covers the key points of the update – the front
and the rear end.
The 2019 Suzuki Vitara is expected
to get a redesigned front bumper, headlights and grille, with the opposite end
getting a similar treatment. The facelifted version will also introduce an
upgraded list of active safety systems, with the test car showing off its new
sensor mounted on the lower part of the front bumper.
The interior is also
expected to get an update with new upholstery and trim materials for the seats
and dashboard. However our first look inside reveals a cabin that pretty much
looks the same with the current model.
We still don’t know if Suzuki is planning to make
any changes to the engine range, with the current model currently employing a
1.6-liter petrol, a 1.6-liter diesel and a turbocharged 1.4-liter BoosterJet
unit. Suzuki might decide to replace the 1.6-liter petrol unit with the
turbocharged 1.0-liter BoosterJet unit known from the Baleno, but that’s just
speculation at this point.
Suzuki is planning to reveal the facelifted 2019
Vitara later this year, with sales set to begin towards the end of 2018.
