A replacement for the 370Z may be under question,
but in the meantime, Nissan has prepped a one-off version of the sports car.
Christened the 370Zki, it builds upon the Roadster model and replaces the tires
with a set of skis at the front, and tracks at the rear.
Nissan’s impressive concept also features an
increased ground clearance and front skid plate, in addition to the colorful
exterior wrap that combines different shades of yellow and orange. The powertrain and gearbox remain untouched, meaning
that the 3.7-liter V6 aluminum-alloy engine continues to generate 332 hp and 366 Nm of torque. The V6 works in conjunction with a seven-speed
automatic gearbox, but customers can spec the stock 370Z with a six-speed manual
as well.
Don’t expect to see the Nissan 370Zki Roadster in
dealerships, because the automaker has built it for show purposes only, just
like the previous track-fitted Rogue, Murano, and Pathfinder, from a couple of
years ago.
Nissan will allow enthusiasts to take a closer look
at the car at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show that opens its gates this Thursday, on
February 8, for the press, and on Saturday for the public.
