Renault is reportedly looking to introduce a new crossover coupe in Russia, according to information by Vedomosti. The new model is expected to be unveiled at this year’s Moscow Motor Show, and will be assembled at the carmaker’s Moscow plant.

Not much is known about the mysterious new Renault, but it is said to be underpinned by the same platform as that used for the Duster. It will also be sold only in Russia, and be positioned above the Kaptur – another Russia exclusive.

Due to the challenging terrain found in Russia, expect Renault’s new crossover to come with a few features to ensure it is up to the task. On the Kaptur, this includes all-wheel drive, a locking centre differential, heavy duty suspension, a ground clearance of 204 mm along with wide approach and departure angles.

No teaser photos of the upcoming crossover have been released yet, but given its position above the Kaptur, we could be seeing something along the lines of a sportier Kadjar.
