You don’t have to be an airplane enthusiast to be in
awe of the SR-71 Blackbird. The Blackbird
was the world’s fastest airplane, capable of flying at speeds exceeding Mach
3.2 (that’s three times the speed of sound or approximately 2,300 mph) and was
operated by the US Air Force for reconnaissance duties from 1964 until 1998.
The latest supercar from Rezvani, the Beast Alpha X Blackbird, is inspired by
this incredible airplane and is the brand’s most powerful model ever.
The Beast Alpha X Blackbird shares a lot of the
components and design with the Beast Alpha and Beast Alpha X. The Beast Alpha
is the brand’s most affordable vehicle, but it’s got specs to embarrass some
really high-performance machines from established manufacturers. With even more
power and a lighter body to lug around, the extremely limited Alpha X Blackbird
is even more radical.
The engine is a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit that
produces 700 hp. Cosworth provided the ECU tune, while Carillo made the racing
forged rods, pistons, cams, valves, and springs. The carbon-fiber body weighs
just 2,150 pounds, which means the supercar can get to 60 mph in just 2.9
seconds – just as fast as a McLaren 720S. In comparison, the standard Beast
Alpha takes 3.5 seconds to get to 60 mph.
The carbon-fiber body features a removable hard-top
and insanely cool SideWinder doors that we’ve come to love. The rest of the
body isn’t that far off of the Beast Alpha X, but gets some lime green accents,
18-inch wheels and AP racing brakes, with carbon ceramic brakes being optional.
The Beast Alpha X Blackbird is the most powerful and
fastest car the brand has ever made. So, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear
that it’s also one of its most expensive, as it is priced at US$ 225,000.
Only five units will be made, and MMA fighter
Rampage Jackson has reportedly accepted delivery of the first one. That only
leaves four available units for purchase, so you’ll have to act fast if you
want one.
