This first-ever images of the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV with its suicide
doors cracked open. Also, given the height of the car, this rear-hinge setup
might turn the Cullinan into the easiest vehicle to get in and out of as far as
rear seat passengers are concerned, though there is a B-pillar, most likely in
the name of structural rigidity.
The Cullinan will be Rolls-Royce’s second vehicle to
be based on their new aluminum spaceframe architecture after the all-new
Phantom. However, it will obviously sit higher than the latter and offer
improved all-weather traction as well as more cargo room.
Power will come from the very same V12
twin turbo found in the Phantom, where it puts out 571 PS and 900 Nm of torque. While Rolls-Royce might want us to consider this a
unique product, in the real world the Cullinan will still have to battle the
Bentley Bentayga for customer attention when it comes out.
When will that happen? Well, there will be a private
unveiling this summer at a “closed-room” event, followed by a public one before
autumn, while sales will reportedly commence towards the end of the year.
