If you were around back in the mid-90s and old
enough to lust after sports cars, you will recall the Bugatti EB 110 of the
time. It was an insane car for the day and is still insane in this day. After
Bugatti went belly up anyone who wanted one of those cars was out of luck
unless one turned up on the used market.
You now have another chance with the SP-110 Edonis
Fenice getting a 15-unit run. The car is based on the EB 110 and has an updated
powertrain. The car has a carbon fiber monocoque from the EB 110 and uses a
3.8L version of the EB 110 V12 engine.
That engine makes 720 hp and uses larger twin turbos
rather than the Bugatti quad-turbos. The builders claim a 0-60 mph time of 3.4
seconds and that the car will reach 100 mph in 8.2 seconds. The new car is
rear-wheel drive not all-wheel drive and is good for about 220 mph on the
high-end. Pricing is unannounced, but a US$ 2,500 deposit will get at least 15
folks in on the action.
