After rolling out the car in multiple Asian markets, Toyota has started testing
the new Vios sedan in Brazil, spy shots published by Noticias Automotivas have
revealed.
The new Toyota Vios on its way to Brazil and India,
like the Thai-spec Toyota Vios, is underpinned by the same platform as the
Thai-spec Toyota Yaris hatchback. The sedan is 4,425 mm long, 1,730 mm wide and
1,475 mm tall. It has a 2,550 mm wheelbase and 133 mm ground clearance. Toyota
offers it with multiple petrol engines, including the 3NR-FE 1.2-litre Dual
VVT-i, the 1NR-FE 1.3-litre Dual VVT-i units and the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual
VVT-i units.
Visually, the Vios features projector
headlamps with LED light guides, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED inserts
in the rear lamps. Interior highlights include leather steering wheel, shift
knob and door trim, automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen multimedia
system, rear armrest with cupholders and six speakers. On the safety front, the
B-segment sedan gets rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, ABS with EBD
& BA, VSC, TRC, HAC and seven airbags.
Its Brazilian
launch is expected to take place in the second half of the year.
