Toyota will launch the Yaris facelift in Indonesia next week, with the event set to happen on February 20 in Jakarta. Kompas reports that the refreshed hatchback has been rolling out from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia’s Karawang factory since January, with deliveries to dealerships ongoing.

Spyshots of the Indonesian-spec Yaris facelift show a front and rear end that’s similar to the Thai-market Yaris facelift, which surfaced in September 2017.

In the Land of Smiles, the Yaris and Yaris Ativ sedan are Thai eco cars with entry level price tags and 1.2 litre engines. No such restrictions in Indonesia, where the Yaris will be positioned higher than the Daihatsu Ayla and Toyota Agya Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) twins, which come with 1.0L and 1.2L engines.

In Indonesia, the Toyota Yaris will be a relatively premium choice with a 1.5 litre engine. The motor in question is the 2NR unit as found in our Perodua Myvi and Toyota Vios, with DOHC and Dual VVT-i.
