The Toyota Yaris Ativ has made its Indian debut as
the Toyota Yaris at Auto Expo 2018. Toyota will position the Toyota Yaris above
the Toyota Etios in India.
The Toyota Yaris is 4.2 metre-long, 1.7 metre-wide
and 1.5 metre-tall. It has a 2.6-metre wheelbase. On the outside, the Toyota
Yaris features projector headlamps with LED light guiding, LED DRLs, 15-inch
alloy wheels, wraparound tail lamps with LED light guiding and shark-fin
antenna.
Toyota has equipped the Indian-spec version with a
beige-black interior to make it look elegant and rich. Power driver’s seat,
automatic climate control, roof-mounted air vent with ambient illumination,
touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and 4.2-inch MID are some more
of the sedan’s interior highlights. Key safety and driver assistance features
include 7 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, rear
camera, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS).
Toyota will offer the Toyota Yaris in India with
only a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine. This engine should deliver 105 bhp
and 140 Nm of torque. It will send power to the wheels via a 6-speed manual
transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The market launch of the
Maruti Ciaz rival is said to take place in April this year.
