It’s probably hard to remember that Chevrolet has the new
Traverse RS out. But that’s okay, because the GM-owned brand brought it to the
2018 Chicago Auto Show, to remind visitors that they can buy one right now.
Based upon the redesigned SUV, the new ‘RS’ model
has a starting price of US$ 43,095, or US$ 13,165 more than the entry-level model.
However, buyers will enjoy additional features, such as the special styling
elements that include the blacked-out grille, window trim, roof rails, and
bowtie badges, and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
Standard equipment includes HID headlights and LED
DRLs, keyless entry&go, infotainment system with 8-inch display, leather
seats with heating function for the front occupants, tri-zone climate control,
OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi, and premium sound system by Bose.
Despite wearing the ‘RS’ badge, the 2018 Chevrolet
Traverse RS isn’t a performance SUV. Not even close, because its 2.0-liter
turbocharged engine delivers 257 hp and 400 Nm of torque through a
nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s 53 hp less and 39 Nm of
torque more than what you’d get in the V6-powered versions.
