At the New York Auto Show, Nissan will reveal its next-generation Altima. Previewed in this teaser image, the design of the
2019 Altima looks a lot like the V-Motion 2.0 concept showcased in Detroit
earlier this year.
Just look at the oversized V-shaped grille, the
headlights, the elements of the lower corners, the sharp creases running over
the fender and down the flank… even the wheels look similar.
Of course that’s just from the one angle, and it’s
just a rendering. We trust that it faithfully portrays what the production
model will look like in the metal, but we can’t vouch for the rest of the
bodywork, or the interior. But were it not for the wing mirrors – and Nissan’s
accompanying caption – we might think we were still looking at a design sketch
for the concept, not the production version.
The Japanese automaker isn’t giving much else away,
only confirming that the Altima will indeed be unveiled when the doors open at
the Javitz Center in Manhattan on March 28. Rumor has it, though, that the new
sedan could offer all-wheel drive, and some measure of electrification.
